What is meant by shifting package?

Shifting the package is an accommodation arrangement away from Haram Sharif. Most people are eager to stay near Masjid al-Haram during Hajj. This is mostly to take chance to pray more in the holy mosque. However, there is not too much supply of accommodations nearby Masjid al-Haram to meet the increasing demand of pilgrims. The concept of shifting package is comparatively new and founded in 2007. When the Government started finished many buildings near Kaaba to undertake the Masjid al-Haram development project. 

Since then there has been a lack of accommodations near the Haram Sharif. To fulfill this lack of accommodations, the tour operators came up with an idea of shifting package. Now shifting style package is a choice for many travel agents. The package consists of stay far from Haram during the peak season of the Hajj for a reduced cost. The shifting accommodations are at a distance of 3 km to 10 km from Haram. The pilgrims stay near the Haram before 1^st Zil Hajj and after 15^th Zil Hajj.
